lone star cabinet

I named it for Texas, but it feels like it could just as easily live in a New York apartment. There’s something about that balance that I love; the grounded, weathered feel of the wood against the glint of tarnished silver, the hidden burst of blue inside that feels like a secret. It’s a mix of contrasts that somehow work together: warm and cool, classic and a little strange. I picture it by the door, catching the light in the morning, holding keys, mail, maybe a candle. A little bit Austin, a little bit Manhattan, familiar and far from home at the same time.
